Options to create a quiz

Table of Contents

The options for creating a quiz depend on the quiz type and are not always active. Some options are also interdependent — certain settings will automatically hide or disable other options when they no longer make sense based on your current configuration.

Quiz type
Choose between the different quiz types for your exercise. Either you have to identify what you see on the fretboard or you have to enter the answer using the fretboard

Scope
The scope defines the set of items queried in the quiz e.g. a list of chord names

Just whole notes
When activated, just whole notes are queried and semitones are ignored

Correct octave
Consider the correct octave in the answer, otherwise the correct note is sufficient

Reference note
Set an optional reference note as a familiar pitch you can sing confidently and accurately. The tone will play at the start of each task to guide you

Any fingering
When activated, any fingering is possible

Question view
Choose the view which presents the question

Answer view
Choose the view where you can enter your answer

Training mode
Please choose your preferred training mode. ‘Lab after lab’ is probably the most effective training mode, since each value must be answered correctly before all values are asked again

Duration unit
Unit in which the duration of a game is determined

Duration
Duration of a game

Maximal duration per question
This option lets you define a maximal duration in seconds, in which you’ll have to answer a question

Fretboard range
Limits the questions to a range of the fretboard

Visible range
Sets the visible area of the fretboard

Strings
Here is the possibility to hide any strings to concentrate on the remaining ones

Tuning
Choose the tuning from the favorites you have selected in the instrument’s settings

Instrument
Choose the instrument whose fretboard and chords will be displayed

Hide fret numbers
When enabled, the fret numbers are not displayed

Bass clef
Would you like to use the bass clef instead of the treble clef?

Playing mode

Playing direction
Determines in which direction the tones shall be played

Playing tempo
Determines how quickly the tones shall be played one after the other (in ms)
