Piano and Fretboard for Melodies

Table of Contents

The Chord Pad can be combined with a piano or a playable fretboard to create melodies, riffs, bass lines or improvisations while playing your chord progressions.

Show the Piano or Fretboard

Use the option in the toolbar or menu to display either the piano or the fretboard below the pads. This gives you an additional melodic instrument directly inside the Chord Pad.

You can freely switch between both views at any time:

  • Piano — ideal for keyboard players, melodies and harmonies
  • Fretboard — perfect for guitarists, bassists and string instrument players

The Chord Pad remembers your current selection and integrates seamlessly into your workflow.

Play Melodies with the Piano or Fretboard

The piano and the fretboard are fully interactive and can be played directly inside the Chord Pad.

Use them to:

  • Play melodies over your chord progression
  • Experiment with solos and riffs
  • Add bass notes or melodic accents
  • Jam interactively with the pads
  • Explore musical ideas from both keyboard and fretboard perspectives

You can switch between the piano and the fretboard at any time to visualize and play the same musical ideas differently.

Chord Notes are Highlighted

Whenever you press a chord pad, all notes belonging to the selected chord are automatically highlighted on both the piano and the fretboard.

If no pad is pressed, the notes of all chords from the current Chord Pad are displayed.

This makes it easy to:

  • See which notes belong to the current chord
  • Find matching melody notes instantly
  • Learn chord structures visually
  • Explore scales and improvisation ideas
  • Understand the relationship between chords and the fretboard

The highlighted notes update immediately when changing chords, giving you real-time visual feedback while playing.
