Songbook data maintenance

The data maintenance is a comfortable way to edit multiple songs at once. It is accessible from the Songbook’s navigation menu or the table of contents.

It’s a good idea to make a backup before editing a large number of songs. The menu of the data maintenance tool takes you directly to the backup tool.

Edit information

The Songbook Data Maintenance Tool allows you to edit the information of multiple songs at once. These properties are supported:
▫ Album
▫ Arranger
▫ Composer
▫ Copyright
▫ Dance
▫ Genre
▫ Key
▫ Lyricist
▫ Tags
▫ Tempo
▫ Time signature
▫ Year

You can also link the songs with a YouTube video. But only each song individually.

Editing process

  • 1. Select the property you want to edit
  • 2. Select the songs you want to edit
  • 3. Click on the Edit button and enter the information in the dialog that appears

Edited songs appear in red until they are saved. Below the song name is the content of selected property visible. You can save the changes at any time.

Sorting and filtering

You can sort the list of the songs by the song name, the selected property or the changed songs. The latter is very helpful to get an overview of the changed songs.

You can activate the search mode with the magnifier glass. It filters the songs according to the text you enter in the edit field. Either by name of the content of the song.

Tip: To find your songs quickly, you can use the fast scrolling by dragging the scrollbar at the right side.

All functions correspond to those in the table of contents. Please read the page about the Table of Contents for further information.

Automatic maintenance

For some properties are automatic maintenance processes implemented. If this is the case for a property, the button ‘Automatic maintenance’ in the left lower corner is activated. Click on it to start one of the available processes. Once the process is complete, you will be shown a list of the changed songs so that you can check the result and only accept the changes you want.
